This course investigates in our materialized daily life products, to elevate the understanding of the relation between materials and their value for the interaction with products and our environment over a longer time. The main goal is to learn and understand materials value from observations, literature, analysis and explorations. Students distinct and create material traces (of use, wear, product interaction etc) and reflect upon the meaning of objects. Those insights will be used to create new design possibilities with changing material properties and aesthetics, for the materialization of future designs.
